Ingredients
- For the Fish:
- 2 halibut fillets (about 1 inch thick)
- For the Topping:
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 tbsp green onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 dash Tabasco
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Pat halibut fillets dry and place them in a lightly greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix butter, mayonnaise, Parmesan, green onion, garlic, Tabasco, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
- Spread the mixture evenly over the top of each halibut fillet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until fish is opaque and flakes easily.
- Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden top.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges or fresh herbs.

- Do not overbake to keep the halibut moist and tender.
- Freshly grated Parmesan gives the best flavor and texture.
