Description
Cinnamon Focaccia is a sweet, soft, and fluffy bread infused with warm cinnamon and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water (about 110โ)
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon white granulated sugar
- 4 cups bread flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 ยฝ teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Cinnamon-Sugar Topping: 6 tablespoons brown butter, โ cup light brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Vanilla Icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 ยฝ tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5โ10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt. Add olive oil, melted butter, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5โ7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1โ1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Punch down dough and transfer to a greased baking pan. Stretch to fit and dimple the surface with fingers.
- Mix cinnamon-sugar topping ingredients and sprinkle over the dough.
- Bake for 25โ30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool slightly.
- Mix vanilla icing ingredients until smooth and drizzle over the warm focaccia. Slice and serve.
Notes
- Brown butter adds a nutty depth to the cinnamon topping.
- Adjust the milk in the icing to reach your desired consistency.
