Description

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon white granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Cinnamon-Sugar Topping: 6 tablespoons brown butter, โ…“ cup light brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • Vanilla Icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 ยฝ tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5โ€“10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt. Add olive oil, melted butter, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5โ€“7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1โ€“1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Punch down dough and transfer to a greased baking pan. Stretch to fit and dimple the surface with fingers.
  5. Mix cinnamon-sugar topping ingredients and sprinkle over the dough.
  6. Bake for 25โ€“30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Let cool slightly.
  7. Mix vanilla icing ingredients until smooth and drizzle over the warm focaccia. Slice and serve.
