Description

This White Russian Poke Cake combines the flavors of coffee, Kahlua, and creamy topping in a moist yellow cake. Perfect for dessert lovers who enjoy a boozy, coffee-infused treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients required on the box: eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled slightly
  • 1/2 cup Kahlua or coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Optional: Chocolate shavings, crushed nuts, or coffee beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yellow cake according to the box instructions and bake in a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. While the cake is warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the surface.
  3. In a small bowl, mix coffee, Kahlua, melted butter, and sugar until combined. Pour evenly over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
  4. Chill the cake for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Top with whipped topping and garnish with chocolate shavings, crushed nuts, or coffee beans if desired.

Notes

  • Use strong brewed coffee for a more pronounced flavor.
  • The cake can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Adjust Kahlua amount for stronger or milder coffee flavor.
