Ingredients

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons baking powder
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt
  • ยฝ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ยฝ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Cinnamon-Sugar Layer:
  • ยฝ cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ยผ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 ยฝ cups (360ml) hot water


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  5. Carefully pour hot water over the cinnamon-sugar layer; do not stir.
  6. Bake for 35โ€“40 minutes until the top is golden and the cobbler is bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optional: serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
