Ingredients
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 package frozen hash browns (about 30 oz)
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ยฝ teaspoon salt
- ยผ teaspoon black pepper
- ยผ cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Layer the hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle cooked sausage and 1ยฝ cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the hash browns.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the dish.
- Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight, or bake immediately for 45โ50 minutes until the casserole is set and golden on top.
