Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 package frozen hash browns (about 30 oz)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt
  • ยผ teaspoon black pepper
  • ยผ cup chopped green onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Layer the hash browns evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle cooked sausage and 1ยฝ cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the hash browns.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the dish.
  7. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
  8. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or bake immediately for 45โ€“50 minutes until the casserole is set and golden on top.
