Ingredients
- For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- For the Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) if baking meatballs.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Form into meatballs.
- Cook meatballs in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Set aside.
- For the gravy, heat olive oil in the same pan. Add sliced onion and cook until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return meatballs to the gravy and simmer for 5โ10 minutes.
- For mashed potatoes, boil potatoes and garlic in salted water until tender. Drain.
- Mash with milk, butter, salt, pepper, and parsley until smooth.
- Serve meatballs and gravy over garlic herb mashed potatoes.
