This Quick & Easy Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole is a simple and satisfying breakfast option. Fluffy crescent roll dough is combined with savory sausage, eggs, and melty colby-jack cheese for a hearty morning meal.
Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) tube crescent dough (Pillsbury recommended)
- 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (freshly ground preferred)
- 8 large eggs (freshly cracked)
- 2 cups grated colby-jack cheese (shredded from block)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Unroll crescent dough and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a base.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Layer cooked sausage over the crescent dough, then sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layer.
- Top with remaining 1 cup of cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
