Description

This Quick & Easy Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole is a simple and satisfying breakfast option. Fluffy crescent roll dough is combined with savory sausage, eggs, and melty colby-jack cheese for a hearty morning meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) tube crescent dough (Pillsbury recommended)
  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (freshly ground preferred)
  • 8 large eggs (freshly cracked)
  • 2 cups grated colby-jack cheese (shredded from block)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a base.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Layer cooked sausage over the crescent dough, then sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layer.
  7. Top with remaining 1 cup of cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
