Description
Philly Cheesesteak Roll Ups are a fun, handheld twist on the classic sandwich. Tender ribeye or sirloin, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese are wrapped in dough for a delicious appetizer or meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ribeye steak or sirloin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 package pizza dough or crescent roll dough, refrigerated
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup provolone or cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat oven according to dough package instructions and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice steak into thin strips and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sauté steak until cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté bell pepper and onion until tender.
- Roll out dough and cut into rectangles. Place a portion of steak, vegetables, and cheese on each rectangle. Roll up and seal edges.
- Brush tops with beaten egg and bake according to dough package instructions until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Optional: add sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Can be served with ketchup, hot sauce, or a side of ranch dressing.
- These roll ups freeze well before baking for make-ahead meals.
