Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional: mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)
Instructions
- In a large deep skillet or pot over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, and uncooked elbow macaroni.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
- If using cheese, stir it in until melted and creamy.
- Serve warm.
