Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove and slice if needed.
- In the same skillet, sautรฉ onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5โ7 minutes.
- Combine sausage with the pepper-tomato mixture and transfer to a baking dish.
- Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 15โ20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot.
