Description

Irresistible Chicken Pillows are soft, flaky crescent roll pastries filled with a rich and creamy chicken mixture, served with a decadent Parmesan sauceโ€”perfect for cozy comfort nights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (use leftover rotisserie chicken for extra flavor)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives (substitute with green onions if unavailable)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated yields the best results)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (can substitute with half-and-half)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cooking spray or melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and cut into squares. Place a portion of the chicken mixture in the center of each square and fold into pillows, sealing edges well.
  4. Brush the pillows with melted butter or cooking spray and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 18โ€“22 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Meanwhile, make the creamy Parmesan sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour, then slowly add chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan, and nutmeg. Cook until thickened and smooth.
  7. Serve baked chicken pillows warm, drizzled with the Parmesan sauce.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese.
  • Garnish with extra chives or parsley for presentation.
  • These pillows pair well with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a full meal.
