Description

Easy Turtle Bars are decadent layered bars with a buttery crust, gooey caramel pecan filling, and rich chocolate topping. Perfect for dessert lovers and special occasions.


Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Caramel Pecan Layer

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Optional Garnishes

  • Extra chopped pecans
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Drizzled caramel sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare crust: combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press evenly into the pan and bake 12โ€“15 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Prepare caramel pecan layer: melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in pecans and cook 2โ€“3 minutes. Spread over baked crust.
  4. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, then remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  5. Prepare chocolate topping: melt chocolate chips over low heat or in microwave with cream if desired. Pour over caramel pecan layer and spread evenly.
  6. Optional: sprinkle extra chopped pecans, sea salt, or drizzle caramel over top.
  7. Allow bars to set completely before cutting into squares. Serve and enjoy!
