Description
Cute Frankenstein Cookie Bars are festive and fun for Halloween. Chocolate cookie bars are topped with green buttercream frosting and decorated with candy eyes and black candy melts to create a cute Frankenstein look.
Ingredients
- Cookie Bars:
1 (15.25 oz) box chocolate cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup butter melted - Buttercream Frosting:
3/4 cup unsalted butter softened, 3 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp salt, 2-4 tbsp milk, green food coloring - Decorations:
1 cup black candy melts, 36 large candy eyes
Instructions
- Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions and prepare a baking pan.
- Mix cake mix, eggs, and melted butter to make cookie bars and bake as directed. Let cool completely.
- Prepare buttercream frosting by mixing softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and milk. Add green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
- Spread green buttercream evenly over cooled cookie bars.
- Melt black candy melts and drizzle or pipe over frosting for details.
- Place candy eyes evenly across bars to complete Frankenstein faces.
- Cut into squares and serve.
