Ingredients

  • 8 ounces medium pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small sweet onion, finely diced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ยฝ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ยฝ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 (15-ounce) can marinara sauce
  • ยพ cup heavy cream
  • ยผ cup sour cream
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 ยฝ cups freshly grated cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic. Sautรฉ until onions are translucent and fragrant, about 3โ€“4 minutes.
  4. Stir in Italian seasoning, parsley, oregano, smoked paprika, and flour. Cook 1โ€“2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.
  5. Gradually add beef stock, stirring constantly to create a smooth sauce.
  6. Mix in marinara sauce, heavy cream, and sour cream. Simmer for 5โ€“7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Add cooked pasta shells to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
  8. Top with cheddar cheese and let melt before serving.
