Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (for decoration)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  5. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle festive sprinkles on top while warm.
  6. Cool completely, cut into bars, and serve.
