Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken (rotisserie or leftover works best)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ยฝ tsp salt
  • ยฝ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • ยฝ cup Panko breadcrumbs (optional for crunch)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Creamy Parmesan Sauce

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ยผ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ยฝ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ยฝ tsp garlic powder
  • ยฝ tsp salt
  • ยผ tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and melted butter for the filling.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and cut into rectangles. Spoon chicken mixture onto each rectangle.
  4. Fold dough over the filling and seal edges with a fork. Brush each pillow with beaten egg and sprinkle with Panko breadcrumbs if desired.
  5. Bake for 15โ€“18 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
  6. For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a roux, cook 1โ€“2 minutes.
  7. Slowly whisk in milk and cream until smooth and thickened. Stir in Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
  8. Serve chicken pillows warm, drizzled with creamy Parmesan sauce.
