Chicken Divan is a classic, comforting casserole featuring tender chicken and broccoli in a creamy, cheesy sauce, topped with buttery breadcrumbs for a crunchy finish. Perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ยฝ teaspoon salt
- ยฝ teaspoon black pepper, divided
- 16 ounces frozen broccoli florets, thawed
- 2 (10.5-ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ยฝ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ยฝ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sautรฉ chicken cubes with ยผ teaspoon salt and ยผ teaspoon pepper until lightly browned. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, milk, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and remaining salt and pepper.
- Add chicken and broccoli to the mixture and stir until evenly coated.
- Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake for 30โ35 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
