Chicken Alfredo Tater Tot Casserole is a comforting, cheesy dish combining tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and crispy tater tots. Perfect for a hearty family dinner with layers of flavor and melty cheese.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup milk
- ยฝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ยผ cup chopped fresh parsley
- ยผ tsp black pepper
- ยผ tsp salt
- ยฝ cup heavy cream
- ยฝ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 cups cooked tater tots
- ยฝ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until lightly browned and cooked through, then remove and dice.
- In the same skillet, sautรฉ onion and garlic until translucent.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, Parmesan, heavy cream, parsley, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Add diced chicken to the sauce and stir to combine.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and evenly spread cooked tater tots on top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and optional cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake 25โ30 minutes, or until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with additional parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting and flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Substitute tater tots with hash browns for a different texture.
