Description

These Beef Meatballs are juicy and flavorful, served with creamy Sweet Potato Mash and a rich Bourbon-Maple Sauce. Perfect for family dinners or a cozy weeknight meal, combining savory meat, warm spices, and a touch of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup chicken stock

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, garlic, smoked paprika, sage, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form mixture into meatballs (about 1–1.5 inches in diameter).
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides. Transfer to a baking dish and finish cooking in the oven for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.
  5. Meanwhile, boil sweet potatoes in a pot of water until tender. Drain and mash with butter, heavy cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Season with salt to taste.
  6. In a small saucepan, combine bourbon, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and chicken stock. Simmer over medium heat until slightly thickened into a sauce.
  7. Serve meatballs over sweet potato mash and drizzle with bourbon-maple sauce.

Notes

  • Ground beef shoulder or chuck works best for juicy meatballs.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme for extra flavor.
  • The bourbon-maple sauce can be made ahead and reheated.
