Description

Bang Bang Chicken is a crispy, spicy, and sweet dish coated in a creamy Thai-inspired sauce. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or main course for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • Bang Bang Sauce: 1 cup mayonnaise, ยฝ cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 1 tsp Sriracha (or more to taste), 2 tbsp honey
  • Chicken: 1 ยฝ lbs boneless skinless chicken tenderloins, 1 cup buttermilk, ยพ cup all-purpose flour, ยฝ cup cornstarch, 1 large egg (room temp), 1 tbsp Sriracha, ยฝ tsp garlic powder, ยฝ tsp kosher salt, ยผ tsp black pepper, โ…› tsp cayenne pepper (optional), 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bang Bang sauce by mixing mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and Sriracha.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne (optional), and panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip chicken tenderloins into the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat canola oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through, about 4โ€“5 minutes per batch.
  6. Drain chicken on paper towels, then toss with Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust Sriracha in the sauce to make it more or less spicy.
  • Serve with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or as a fun appetizer for parties.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 2 days, reheat in the oven for crispiness.
