Description
Bang Bang Chicken is a crispy, spicy, and sweet dish coated in a creamy Thai-inspired sauce. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or main course for family dinners.
Ingredients
- Bang Bang Sauce: 1 cup mayonnaise, ยฝ cup Thai sweet chili sauce, 1 tsp Sriracha (or more to taste), 2 tbsp honey
- Chicken: 1 ยฝ lbs boneless skinless chicken tenderloins, 1 cup buttermilk, ยพ cup all-purpose flour, ยฝ cup cornstarch, 1 large egg (room temp), 1 tbsp Sriracha, ยฝ tsp garlic powder, ยฝ tsp kosher salt, ยผ tsp black pepper, โ tsp cayenne pepper (optional), 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- Canola oil for frying
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Bang Bang sauce by mixing mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and Sriracha.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne (optional), and panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip chicken tenderloins into the buttermilk mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat canola oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through, about 4โ5 minutes per batch.
- Drain chicken on paper towels, then toss with Bang Bang sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust Sriracha in the sauce to make it more or less spicy.
- Serve with steamed rice, lettuce wraps, or as a fun appetizer for parties.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 2 days, reheat in the oven for crispiness.
