Description
These Baked Cream Cheese Chicken Taquitos are crispy, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. Perfect as a quick weeknight dinner or a party appetizer, theyโre healthier than fried taquitos but just as delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ยฝ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ยผ cup salsa
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 10 small flour or corn tortillas
- Cooking spray or olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salsa, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Warm tortillas slightly to make them pliable, then spoon 2โ3 tablespoons of filling onto each tortilla and roll tightly.
- Place rolled taquitos seam side down on the baking sheet. Lightly brush or spray with olive oil.
- Bake for 15โ20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.
Notes
- Flour tortillas are easier to roll, but corn tortillas give a more authentic flavor.
- Add chopped jalapeรฑos or green chiles for extra heat.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven to keep them crispy.
