Description

Amish Hamburger Steak Bake is a hearty, comforting casserole featuring ground beef, vegetables, and elbow macaroni simmered in a rich tomato sauce, topped with melted cheddar cheeseโ€”a family-friendly meal everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sautรฉ until softened.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add uncooked elbow macaroni and stir to combine.
  6. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake 25โ€“30 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
  7. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, and bake 5โ€“10 minutes more until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
